Curriculum Intent
At St Lawrence C of E Primary School, our intent is to use Physical Education as a vehicle to build confidence, increase self-esteem, develop motor skills, acquire knowledge and cultivate positive values and attitudes for the development of an active and healthy lifestyle. We aim to deliver high-quality PE lessons that will inspire every child to succeed and excel. We also endeavour to provide children with a variety of extra-curricular sporting clubs and events to partake in.
Our PE lessons provide children with the opportunity to learn and develop skills which can then be used within a team and/or individual sport. We provide the children with experiences in a range of team sports and individual activities such as football, tag rugby, basketball, gymnastics and dance as well as less mainstream sports such as yoga, lacrosse and swimming.
